Cardano (ADA) can be purchased on several exchanges, including Crypto.com, Binance, Kraken, and more.

For example, if you choose to use the Crypto.com exchange:

1. Download the application from either the Google Play Store or Apple Store.
2. After installing the application, complete the registration and identity verification process.
3. Once the registration process is complete, search for Cardano and make a purchase using either a credit card or by loading your account via bank transfer.

To delegate Cardano, you need to create a personal wallet using one of the official applications: Yoroi (mobile, desktop) or Lace (desktop).

Here's an example using the Yoroi mobile application:

1. Download the application from either the Google Play Store or Apple Store.
2. Add a wallet, then click on Create Wallet and follow the steps. Important: securely save the 15 recovery words; you'll need them to restore your wallet on another mobile phone or computer in the future. Without these recovery words, you'll lose access to your wallet and, consequently, your coins.
3. Now that your Cardano wallet is created, you can transfer purchased coins to it. In the Receive button, copy one of the new addresses.
4. On your exchange platform, initiate a transfer to an external wallet and use the address you copied from the Yoroi application (the transfer usually takes only a few seconds).
5. After transferring the coins to Yoroi, access the Staking tab. In the Staking Center, search for Hype Staking and click on the Delegate button.
6. Your wallet is now delegating, and your coins can be moved at any time. Any ADA you add to the wallet will automatically be delegated.

When you have your personal wallet, you guarantee that your ADA is under your full control. You just need to carefully save the seed phrase when you create your wallet. That way, even if you lose your phone or your computer, you can always restore your wallet using that phrase.

By having your personal wallet, you own the custody of your coins, and you are not dependent on thirty-party services like exchanges.

At the start of the delegation process, there is a waiting period of approximately 15 to 20 days (equivalent to about 4 epochs) for the delegated total to be credited to the account. The image below illustrates the progression of this process over time.
